In recent years most of Pat’s hard work is in pursuing his lifetime passion for rowing.
The main focus these days is daily rowing training and coaching or preparing to compete annually at World Masters Rowing Championships.

A Life-Member of the Hawthorn Rowing Club (HRC),
Pat commenced rowing at school, initially as Coxswain at Xavier College boatsheds in 1972. After school, he moved next door to the Hawthorn Rowing Club where he has been a member for over 50 years with competitive rowing an integral part of his life.
A life member of HRC, Pat has served continuously on HRC Committees in multiple capacities; President, Vice President, Captain, Vice Captain, Secretary, General Committee, and has been a major driver of the success of the club and in growing the Annual Head of The Yarra to be a world leading rowing event.
Pat was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award by the City of Boroondara in 2024 for services to the Hawthorn Rowing Club.
The 2025 Head of the Yarra will be run on Saturday November 22.
